Whānau sow first seed
Over the weekend, whānau attended the first working bee put together by new trustees to rake and sow the first section of grass around the Marae.
Mahi completed included the fence-line grass area, weeding the roadside, prepping the tanks for stones & cleaning up the edges of the carpark.
Over 20 individuals attended, so much got done before a mid day Kai. The working bee finished about 2pm with another working bee set for the following weekend to finish the remaining grass section. It’s estimated the first mow of the new grass will take place in 3-4 weeks time.
