First wānanga reo

‘Ko Ngāruahine ki te rangi, ko ngā māwhitiwhiti ki te whenua’. 

Te Pōkaitahi Reo Levels 1, 3 and 4 held their first wānanga reo at Kanihi-Māwhitiwhiti on Friday 24th to Sunday 26th April 2023. Over 50 āonga who are studying te reo Māori with Te Whare Kōrero o Ngārauhine and Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, gathered at the pā for a weekend of whanaungatanga, history, and kōrero. Students were also continuing their learning and use of te reo Māori in formal and informal contexts. 

Te Pōkaitahi Reo Level 1 is due to end on June 24th. Level 2 enrolments are being taken now for a July 24 start. If you are interested in joining Te Pōkaitahi Reo, contact Katrina at pokaitahireo@gmail.com.
